Five-time Grammy Award Winner
Atlantic City, NJ – June 24, 2008: “Blue-eyed” soul singer and songwriter, Michael McDonald, will perform in the Mark G. Etess Arena at Trump Taj Mahal on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 9 p.m.
As a keyboard player, guitarist and vocalist, McDonald started out in local combos throughout St. Louis, singing Motown tunes in clubs. After moving to California in 1972, he worked with Steely Dan for years before joining the Doobie Brothers in 1976. His voice and songwriting style helped transform the Doobie Brothers into a soulful rock group with hit songs like "What A Fool Believes," "Real Love," "You Belong To Me," "It Keeps You Runnin’," and "Little Darling (I Need You)," among countless others.
McDonald quickly became one of most distinctive and popular singer-songwriters to emerge from the 70’s rock scene and began his successful multi-platinum solo career after the Doobie Brothers disbanded in 1982. He has since released eight albums with singles that have reached Top 10 on the Billboard R&B and Pop Charts.
Michael’s newest album, Soul Speak, was recently released on the Motown label. This 13-track CD features some of Michael’s favorite songs. Three singles from this CD have already charted on Billboard at the same time: "Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher" debuting on Adult Contemporary at 21, "Love TKO" 39 on Adult R&B and "Walk On By" at 28 on Hot Contemporary Jazz Songs.
His Grammy winning career has spanned over thirty years and he has written songs with Kenny Loggins ("This Is It") and Carly Simon ("You Belong To Me") as well as written for Patti Austin, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Anita Baker, Paul Carrack, and Stanley Clarke. He has performed duets with Patti, James Ingram and many others. He and Ingram had a Top 10 R&B hit with their duet "Yah Mo B There" in 1983.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – June 20, 2008 – The Atlantic City Hilton Casino announced that legendary actor, singer, musician and consummate entertainer, Mickey Rooney and his wife Jan Rooney, will perform in the Hilton Theater Sunday, July 6 2008 through Friday, July 11 2008 (dark July 7). The performers, along with musical director Sam Kriger, bring their hit musical "Let's Put On a Show!" to the Atlantic City Hilton in celebration of Rooney’s 85th anniversary in show business.
"Let's Put On a Show!" is a charming show that engages the audience with its unique use of multi-media. Using songs, anecdotes, film clips, dancing and humor, Mickey and Jan take the audience for a trip down memory lane that highlights a successful career and a successful 30 plus years of marriage.
A true American treasure, Mickey Rooney (born Joe Yule, Jr.) was destined to become the iconic performer he is today. When he was just 18 months old, Rooney crawled onto the stage during his father's Vaudeville act. And from there a star was born.
In 1926, Mickey appeared in his first movie, playing a midget in "Not to be Trusted." His performance got him noticed, and in 1927 he landed his first big break. Mickey was cast as the lead in the series "Mickey 'Himself' McGuire," which was based on a popular comic strip. Mickey's mother then decided to legally change his name to capitalize on the publicity. Joe Yule became Mickey Rooney.
Mickey's career is the stuff of legend. Another big break came when he was showing off for the crowd during a table tennis tournament in which he was competing. MGM executives saw him and signed him to a contract. He became the number one box office actor from 1939 to 1941.
