Harrah’s Resort and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa team up to

launch one of the East Coast’s largest fireworks display July 3

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (June 27, 2008) – On Thursday, July 3, 2008, a spectacular fireworks demonstration will once again illuminate the skies above Atlantic City’s Marina District. Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa have joined forces to sponsor a freedom celebration fireworks display, making this among the largest fireworks show on the entire East Coast.

The display easily surpasses other fireworks events due to the length of the show (approximately 21 minutes) and the quality of the shells fired during the show.  This elaborate display that will highlight the holiday weekend will be orchestrated by Fireworks by Grucci of New York.  This “First Family of Fireworks,” has produced state-of-the-art programs that have graced the sky at some of the world’s biggest events including New Year’s Eve in Times Square and 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. With M. Philip Butler producing the show and over 5 days of set-up required the show will be sure to exceed all expectations.

The show is open to the public with viewing areas opening at 6pm at both properties. The fireworks, which will be discharged from between Borgata and Harrah’s Resort, are scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m. Weather and wind conditions may affect the timing of the fireworks show.

The fireworks are choreographed to music, which is broadcast over 95.1 WAYV FM radio. Spectators can bring their portable radios and tune in to enjoy the perfectly synchronized fireworks show without any sound delay.

“A thrilling fireworks display is a special favorite event for countless area residents and visitors,” said Scott Barber, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. “Atlantic City’s patriotic celebrations are always a great success, with this year’s biggest and best-ever fireworks display setting a new standard in excitement.”

Larry Mullin, President and Chief Operating Officer of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, echoes those sentiments in stating that, “Supporting wonderful community events like this fireworks display is one of the great traditions we are proud to honor at Borgata. We're excited to be a part of this year’s celebration, and eager to see a record-setting display as a kickoff to another action-packed summer.”
